Acid Sulfate Soil Assessment

Ecoteam can provide an acid sulfate soil assessment for your property or development.

Our services include:

  • Desktop assessment of site history, existing soil maps and specific site characteristics.
  • Site assessment – according to legislative requirements and tailored to your needs.
  • Soil testing and analysis
  • Written reports and liaising with Councils and stakeholders as required.

Coastal acid sulfate soils are naturally occurring sediments that are deposited under estuarine conditions and are widespread along the NSW coast.  When exposed to oxygen through drainage or disturbance, iron sulfide materials in the soil produce sulfuric acid, often releasing toxic quantities of iron, aluminium and other metals.

 Acid sulphate soil identification

Ecoteam can undertake acid sulfate soil assessments to determine the presence/absence of potential or actual acid sulfate soil and provide management recommendations for development.
